Dehradun has been shortlisted in the Smart Cities challenge by Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.

The Dehradun Municipal Corporation hereby invites citizens to come forward and share their opinions about the issues and bottlenecks plaguing the city and suggest their vision along with innovative, sustainable and SMART solutions with regard to the following Area-Based Strategies:

• Retrofitting (Planning and improvement of infrastructure in an existing built-up area).
• Redevelopment (Replacement of existing built-up area and co-creation of new layout with enhanced infrastructure).
• Greenfield Development (planning and development in new areas)

Dehradun Municipal Corporation is looking forward to the valuable suggestions and continued support of all Dehradun citizens in this endeavor.

Reconstructing the buildings which are of no use and evacuating slum people therein.
Better waste management and sewage treatment plants must be established within city in order to reduce the pollution facing various strata of ecosystem including humans.
Establishment of public libraries and study cafes at various areas to make city a better place for youth and students.
Awaring people and promoting them to use public transports.
Construction of cycle paths for people using cycles.
