Cybercrime is a global phenomenon that hampers the privacy and security of a person online. Cybercrime is an unlawful act where the computer is used as a tool or target or both. These days Cybercrime is a fast-growing area of crime. As, technology is advancing man is becoming dependent on the internet for all his needs as it gives easy access to do shopping, gaming, online studying, social networking, online jobs etc. everything in one place. Apart from other countries, India is also not far where the rate of incidence of cybercrime is increasing day by day.
Women are often soft targets. There are people who are on the lookout for personal information, like passwords, bank details, etc. Apart from that women are often harassed, stalked and threatened in the virtual world.

2.Cyber terrorism
3.Cyber extortion
4.Cyberwarfare

Effects:-
1.Leakage of important information of vital systems such as nuclear plants, railways and hospitals that can lead to dire consequences.
2.Financial frauds and fake online lottery and job scams damage the economic condition.
3.Stalking, cyberbullying and harassment online increased drastically.
4.Cybercrime may cause damage to social and communal harmony by spreading provocative media files and messages without the fear of being caught thus encouraging youth to get involved in such activities.
5.It may cause big losses to the business industry by creating fake companies, transactions and deals in sales etc.

4.Manage your social media settings
5.Strengthen your home network

7.Keep up to date on major security breaches
8.Take measures to help protect yourself against identity theft
9.Know that identity theft can happen anywhere
10.Know what to do if you become a victim
