Dehradun has been shortlisted in the Smart Cities challenge by Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.

The Dehradun Municipal Corporation hereby invites citizens to come forward and share their opinions about the issues and bottlenecks plaguing the city and suggest their vision along with innovative, sustainable and SMART solutions with regard to the following Area-Based Strategies:

• Retrofitting (Planning and improvement of infrastructure in an existing built-up area).
• Redevelopment (Replacement of existing built-up area and co-creation of new layout with enhanced infrastructure).
• Greenfield Development (planning and development in new areas)

Dehradun Municipal Corporation is looking forward to the valuable suggestions and continued support of all Dehradun citizens in this endeavor.

Evidences such as ancient temples and idols have been found in the areas surrounding Dehradun which have been linked to the mythology of Ramayana and Mahabharata. These relics and ruins are believed to be around 2000 years old.
