The objective of this competition is to encourage the competitive spirit and awareness among the students, eminent institutes/universities, colleges and startups to shape-up their ideas for UAV technology.

About UAV Forensic

Drone forensics is a branch of digital forensics relating to recovery of digital evidence or data from a drone under forensically sound conditions. The phrase drone forensics (UAV) usually refers to drones; however, it can also relate to any wireless remote-controlled UAV that has both internal memory and communication ability, including Cameras, Wi-Fi, GPS, and 3G or 4G connectivity.
Drones and all types of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV's) are proven to be valuable sources of information in the majority of criminal investigations. Parties in litigation seeking to prove wrongdoing often find important evidence, clues and traces by analysing activities stored on drones, including flight routes and their creation and landing locations as well as photos the drone has taken, whom has operated it, the controller ID and metadata.

Objectives of the UAV Forensic Hackathon 2020
• To find the creative ideas which may produce next generation methodologies or products
• To identify companies which are interested in manufacturing tools and technologies related to forensic science. .
• To encourage the competitive spirit among the students, eminent institutes/universities and colleges to shape-up their ideas.
• The participants are expected to evaluate their ideas and innovative skills to provide feasible, viable, economical and realistic solution to the selected problem in a given time frame.
Problem Statements:

PS (1) UAV Forensic Tools for open source protocol (Mavlink)
(a) On board Flight path (output file format .kmz)
(b) Distance travelled
(c) Firmware version
(d) Home Location
(e) All Time stamps and digital footprints (output file format .xml)

PS (2) Develop a tool for detection of Wi-Fi signal along with its strength and direction.
(a) RSSI value
(b) Azimuthal angle of signal
(c) Frequency (2.4 GHz or 5.8 GHz)
(d) Source of Signal with direction

PS (3) Create an AI based solution which can extract the footprints of the buildings available in any image and simultaneously give the accurate count of the buildings present. (Input file format of the image: .JPEG, .JPG, PDF)

Total prize money worth Rs.1,20,000
